Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 7 of chapter 55 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended, in lines 17-21, by striking out the first and second sentences, and inserting in place thereof the following:- No candidate or candidate’s committee shall receive a transfer of funds or assets from any federal political committee; provided, however, that a city, ward or town committee may receive not more than one thousand dollars from a federal candidate’s committee in any calendar year. No candidate or candidate’s committee shall make an expenditure of, or transfer, funds or assets that were transferred on or after November 25, 1998 from a federal political committee, except for expenditures made by a city, ward or town committee resulting from the transfer of funds to a city, ward or town committee from a federal candidate’s committee as authorized under this section.
