AN ACT relating to health insurance for elder care workers

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the division of health care finance and policy shall develop a methodology to provide reimbursement for the total cost of health insurance premiums paid by employers, as currently reported by facilities licensed by section 71 of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 official edition, and community based aging services.  The division shall submit a report to the clerks of the house and senate, the house and senate chairs of the joint committee on health care and the chairs of the house and senate committees on ways and means, within 180 days of the effective date of this act, describing how such payments could be made, the cost of such payments and the number of individuals who would be provided coverage through such a program.
