AN ACT relative to the Board of Bar Overseers.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Supreme Judicial Court Rule 4:01, Sec 8(1), is amended by adding at the end of Paragraph (a), the following paragraph: (b) if after one year to the date of a letter from the Office of the Bar Counsel to a lawyer advising him of a complaint against him/her, and following an investigation, the complaint has not been dismissed, no recommendation has been made to the Board, formal proceedings have not been institutes, formal disciplined imposed or no admonition, or disciplined by agreement, and grievance has not been docketed as a formal complaint or has not been closed; the lawyer shall be entitled to loss of income and loss of future income, attorneys fees and costs.

SECTION 2. Rule4:01, sec 5(j), is amended by termination any existing lease of the Board of Bar Overseers or signed in their behalf by any agency of the Commonwealth, and they shall occupy office space in the John Quincy Adams Court House.
