Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
ECTION 1. Section 17 of Chapter 267 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by:-
(a) striking out the title and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “Counterfeiting money; possession of ten or more pieces of false money”; and
(b) striking out the words “gold or silver coin current by law or usage”, beginning in line 1, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- legal currency.
(c) striking out the words “gold or silver coin current”, in line 4, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- legal currency.
SECTION 2. ; Section 18 of Chapter 267 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by:-
(a) striking out the title and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “Possession of less than ten pieces of counterfeit money; uttering, passing or tendering in payment”; and
(b) striking out the word “coin”, in line 2, and inserting in place thereof the following word:- currency; and
(c) striking out the word “coin”, in line 4, and inserting in place thereof the following word:- money.
SECTION 3. ; Section 19 of Chapter 267 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by:-
(a) striking out the title and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “Common utterers of counterfeit money”; and
(b) striking out the word “coin”, in line 5, and inserting in place thereof the following word:- currency.
SECTION 4. ; Section 20 of Chapter 267 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by:-
(a) striking out the title and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “Tools for making counterfeit money”; and
(b) striking out the word “coin”, in line 4, and inserting in place thereof the following word:- money; and
(c) striking out the words “gold or silver coin current by law or usage”, beginning in line 4, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- legal currency; and
(d) striking out the words “coining or”, beginning in line 6; and
(e) striking out the word “coin”, in line 7, and inserting in place thereof the following word:- currency.
