AN ACT to increase the small claims statutory maximum

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:


SECTION 1. Chapter 218, Section 21 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out the term two thousands dollars in line six and inserting in place thereof, the following: - five thousand dollars.  

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its passage.
