Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 6A of Chapter 270 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following additional new section:
Whoever shall, while under the age of eighteen, be in possession of a cigarette, chewing tobacco, snuff, or any tobacco in any of its forms not given to that person by his parent or guardian shall be punished by a fine of not less than ten and no more than twenty-five dollars. If the offense is committed while on the property of a public school, it shall be permissible for administrative and teaching personnel of that school to confiscate the tobacco product.
