In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

AN ACT relative to improving playgrounds

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Chapter 45 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2000 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding after section 14 the following section:—
“Section 14A. The department of public health shall promulgate public playground safety standards as comprehensive as those issued by the United States Consumer Products Safety Commission as authorized by USCS, sec. 2051. Said department of public health shall also oversee implementation of and compliance with the public playground safety standards.”

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
