Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Paragraph (g ½) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws is hereby amended by added at the end thereof the following:-
A member of the teachers' retirement system who is eligible for credit for out-of-state service under subsection 4 of section 3 of chapter 32 shall be eligible for the maternity leave provision under this paragraph, provided that the member shall have resigned for the purposes of maternity leave prior to 1975 in the state for which she claims creditable out-of-state service; provided further, that the member has not already received credit for maternity leave; and provided further, that said member shall pay into the Annuity Savings Fund of the system by December 31, 2004.
