In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.

AN ACT relative to certain employees of the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 3 of Chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 edition, is hereby amended by inserting in line 312 after the words "fire marshal" the following words:- and employees.

Section 3 of said Chapter 32 is hereby further amended by inserting after line 317 after the words "firefighting academy" the following words:- employees of the Department of Fire Services shall have previously held employment in a group 4 position.

SECTION 2.  No employee of the department of fire services, otherwise eligible for retirement under this act, shall be eligible for retirement under this act for a period of 1 year after the effective date of this act.
