retirement buy-back for the Massachusetts teachers'

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts Teachers’ Retirement System shall credit Carol Adam with creditable service for the period or periods before 1975 when she resigned for the purpose of maternity leave or was on unpaid leave of absence for such purposes under paragraph (g ½) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws notwithstanding that Carol Adam made no payment into the Annuity Savings Fund of the Massachusetts Teachers’ Retirement System by December 31, 2001. Eligibility for the creditable service shall be conditioned upon payment to the Massachusetts Teachers’ Retirement System of an amount of the contributions required under said paragraph (g ½) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 upon such terms and conditions as the board may prescribe.
