In the Year Two Thousand and Seven.


AN ACT regulating certain insurance benefits for elected officials of the town of Easton.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding chapter 32B of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, elected officials of the town of Easton who receive a stipend shall not be eligible for participation in the town’s contributory health and life insurance plans, but officials who were elected before May 1, 2006 and currently participate in those plans shall be eligible to continue to participate until the end of their current terms at the same rate of contribution as non-union employees.  Elected officials who receive a stipend shall remain eligible to participate in the plans if they pay 100 per cent of the cost of their participation to the town, plus any administrative costs that may be assessed by the board of selectmen.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
