AN ACT permitting the reinstatement of Roger B. Cataldo to the police department of the town of Southwick

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Roger B. Cataldo, a retired patrolman of the police department of the town of Southwick may be reinstated in such a position for a period of 5 years until he reaches the age of 70, provided, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of such position. Roger B. Cataldo shall, at the town’s expense, be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine such capability. No further deductions shall be made from his regular compensation under chapter 32 of the General Laws for service subsequent to December 31, 2002 and upon retirement he shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which was entitled to receive as of December 31, 2002.
