AN ACT establishing a sick leave bank for Deborah King, an employee of the Department of Mental Retardation

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is forthwith to establish a sick leave bank for a certain employee of the Department of Mental Retardation, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the Department of Mental Retardation shall establish a sick leave bank for Deborah King, an employee of the Department of Mental Retardation.  Any employee within the Department of Mental Retardation may voluntarily contribute 1 or more sick, personal or vacation days to the sick leave bank for use by Deborah King.  Whenever Deborah King terminates employment with the Department on Mental Retardation or requests to dissolve the sick leave bank, the balance of sick leave shall be transferred to the Department of Mental Retardation paid leave bank.
