AN ACT relative to the membership of the board of building regulations and standards

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.  Section 93 of chapter 143 of the General Laws, as so appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “mechanical engineer” in lines 11-12, the following words:- one of whom shall be a registered professional engineer who is a fire protection engineer.

SECTION 2.  Section 93 of chapter 143 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is further amended by inserting after the words “fire department” in line 17, the following words:- one of whom shall be an owner of commercial or residential property in a city, one of whom shall be a member of the architectural access board and one of whom shall represent the general public.

SECTION 3.  Section 93 of chapter 143 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is further amended by striking, in line 17, the words “one of whom shall be an inspector” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- two of whom shall be inspectors.

SECTION 4. Section 93 of chapter 143 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is further amended by striking out, in line 38, the word “fifty” and inserting in place thereof the following word:- one hundred.

SECTION 5. Section 93 of chapter 143 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is further amended by striking out, in line 41, the word “three” and inserting in place thereof the following word:-six.
