AN ACT relative to lung cancer awareness month

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 6 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 15 _ the following section:-

Section 15 ___ . The Governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the month of November as “Lung Cancer Awareness Month” in order to increase the citizen’s awareness of the leading cause of cancer death in the United States, as to lead to a better education of it and thus leading to earlier diagnoses, resulting in a higher chance of long tern survival; and shall recommend that it be observed by the people in an appropriate manner.
