Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 6 of the Massachusetts General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 15zzzz, the following section:-
Section 15aaaaa. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart December 24 as Leopoldville Disaster Remembrance Day, in honor of the victims and survivors of the SS Leopoldville Disaster of December 24, 1944, and recommending that the said day be observed in an appropriate manner by the people.
