AN ACT providing for health alternatives in vending machine

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.    Chapter 8 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

The superintendent shall ensure that all state buildings, including the state house, as specified by section 9 of this chapter, with licensed vending machines pursuant to chapter 94, section 308-313, shall also have a vending machine specializing in healthy and natural snacks.  Said snacks shall mean snacks not containing artificial flavors, colorings or preservatives with has 35% or less of its total calories from fat; 10% less total calories from saturated fat and 35% or less of weight from added sweeteners.
