Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 39 of chapter 6 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the definition of “Regional public libraries”.
SECTION 2. Section 39A of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out the words “each of the regional public libraries in the state” and inserting in place thereof the following:— the public libraries of the cities of Boston, Springfield and Worcester.
SECTION 3. Chapter 40 of the General Laws is hereby amended
by striking out section 50, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, and
inserting in place thereof the following section:—
Section 50. One copy or more of the annual report and of any special report of
a city or town shall annually, on or before the last day of May, be transmitted
by the city or town clerk to the state library, and until such transmission,
the publications distributed by the commonwealth shall be withheld from the
city or town.
