create a cranberry heritage study commission. Tourism,
Arts and Cultural Development.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. A special commission hereafter referred to as the Cranberry Heritage Study Commission, is hereby established for the purpose of making an investigation and study relative to the establishment of a Cranberry Heritage Area in Southeastern Massachusetts.
The Cranberry Heritage Area Study Commission shall consist of 11 members; one member of the senate, appointed by the senate president, one member of the house of representatives, appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives, one member from the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, one member from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources; one from the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce, one from the University of Massachusetts Center for Marketing Research, one from the Trustees of Reservations, one from the Plymouth County Development Council Convention and Visitors Bureau and three from the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers’ Association.
The Commission’s activities shall consist of but not limited to; studying the historic, cultural and natural resources of the cranberry industry and the need to interpret them for the education and inspiration of present and future generations.
Said commission shall report to the general court the results of its investigation and study, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry such recommendations into effect by filing the same with the clerk of the house of representatives on or before December 31, 2007.
