AN ACT TO CREATE THE RECREATIONAL FIELDS FUND IN TYNGSBOROUGH

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.   Notwithstanding section 53 of chapter 44 of the General Laws, the town of Tyngsborough may establish and maintain a separate account known as the Recreation Fields Fund.  The town treasurer shall keep the fund separate and apart from all other monies of the town and shall deposit into the account 10 per cent of field usage fees for the use of school and town fields annually.   The treasurer may invest these funds in the manner prescribed in section 54 and 55 of said chapter 44.  The town and the Tyngsborough school district may expend the principal and income from the fund for the non-routine maintenance of elementary school fields and Pierce Field and for the replacement of the artificial surface of Pierce Field.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
