A majority of all the members elected to the Senate and of Representatives, in joint session, hereby declares it to be expedient to alter the Constitution by the adoption of the following Article of Amendment, to the end that it may become a part of the Constitution [if similarly agreed to in a joint session of General Court and approved by the people at the state next following]:
ARTICLE OF AMENDMENT.
Article XLVIII of the Massachusetts Constitution is amended by replacing General Provisions, Section VI with the following: The General Court’s Power of Repeal. The General Court may amend or repeal a law approved by the people only with the written consent of a majority of the 10 original signers of the initiative petition that created the law, or the approval of a majority of the voters on a statewide ballot.
