AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF CHILD ABUSE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section 51A of chapter 119 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 46, the words "one thousand dollars" and inserting in place thereof the following words: "twenty-five thousand dollars or by imprisonment in the house of corrections for not more than two and one half years, or both such fine and imprisonment."

SECTION 2. Section 51A of chapter 119 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 67, the words "one thousand dollars" and inserting in place thereof the following words: "twenty-five thousand dollars or by imprisonment in the house of corrections for not more than two and one half years, or both such fine and imprisonment."
