AN ACT RELATIVE TO CERTAIN INJURIES in legal actions

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section 36, subsection (k) of Chapter 152 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2002 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking in their entirety the following words in lines 74-73:- “No amount  shall be payable under this section for disfigurement that is purely scar based, unless such disfigurement is on the face, neck or hands” and inserting in place thereof the following language:- No amount  shall be payable under this section for disfigurement that is purely scar based as the result of a surgical or medical procedure, unless such disfigurement is on the face, neck or hands.
