AN ACT PROVIDING FOR ALTERNATE MEMBERS ON THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF THE CITY OF METHUEN

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.

Chapter 550 of the Acts of 1978 as amended by Chapter 194 of the Acts of 1990 is hereby further amended in Section 6 thereof by adding the following:

The City Council of the City of Methuen may by ordinance provide for two alternate members of the Community Development Board.  Said alternate members may be designated by the Chairman of the Community Development Board to sit on said board in the case of absence, inability to act, or conflict of interest on the part of any members thereof, or, in the event of a vacancy on the board until said vacancy is filled in accordance with the provisions of the Methuen Home Rule Charter.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
