The committee on Municipalities and Regional Government to whom was referred the petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 2049) relative to authorizing the Somerville Retirement Board to purchase or lease property, facilities and equipment, reported, recommeding that the same ought to pass, with an amendment substituting a new draft with the same title (Senate, No. 2086).

In the Year Two Thousand and Five.

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE SOMERVILLE RETIREMENT BOARD TO PURCHASE OR LEASE PROPERTY, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1.

The Somerville Retirement Board shall be authorized to purchase or lease property, facilities, and equipment reasonably necessary for the proper administration and transaction of business of the retirement system.

SECTION 2.  Purchase of said property, and facilities and equipment will be chapter 30B exempt.

SECTION 3. Section 2 of this act shall expire on December 31, 2007.

SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
