The Chair (Mr. DiDomenico), members, guests and staff then recited the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Petitions.

Petitions were severally presented and referred, as follows:

By Mr. Richard T. Moore, a petition (subject to Joint Rule 12) of Richard T. Moore and Kevin Kuros for legislation to establish a sick leave bank for Patricia Capozzoli, an employee of the Department of Correction;

By the same Senator, a petition (subject to Joint Rule 12) of Richard T. Moore and Kevin Kuros for legislation to establish a sick leave bank for Kevin Russell, an employee of the Department of Revenue; and

By Mr. Rush, a petition (subject to Joint Rule 12) of Michael F. Rush for legislation to designate a certain bridge in the city of Boston, The Brigadier General William J. Gormley III Bridge;
Severally referred, under Senate Rule 20, to the committees on Rules of the two branches, acting concurrently.

Resolutions.

The following resolutions (having been filed with the Clerk) were severally considered forthwith and adopted, as follows:-

Resolutions (filed by Ms. Chandler, Messrs. Brewer and Eldridge, Ms. Flanagan and Messrs. Michael O. Moore and Richard T. Moore) “congratulating John G. O'Brien on his retirement from the University of Massachusetts Memorial Health Care, Inc.”; and

Resolutions (filed by Mr. Pacheco) “congratulating the Baptist Church of All Nations on the occasion of its eightieth anniversary.”

Reports of Committees.

By Mr. Rosenberg, for the committees on Rules of the two branches, acting concurrently, that Joint Rule 12 be suspended on the Senate petition of Richard T. Moore, Michael O. Moore and George N. Peterson, Jr. for legislation to designate a certain bridge in the town of Northbridge as the Corporal Thomas S. Perron, USMC Memorial Bridge.
Senate Rule 36 was suspended, on motion of Mr. Knapik, and the report was considered forthwith. Joint Rule 12 was suspended; and the petition (accompanied by bill) was referred to the committee on Transportation.
