Met according to adjournment, at eleven o’clock A.M.
The President, members, guests and employees then recited the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
The following resolutions (having been filed with the Clerk) were severally considered forthwith and adopted, as follows:—
Resolutions (filed by Ms. Fargo) “on the occasion of the retirement of Sergeant Thomas M. Healey”;
Resolutions (filed by Mr. Knapik) “honoring Michael Corduff on being named the recipient of the 2003 Citizenship Award by the Saint Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke”;
Resolutions (filed by Mr. Knapik) “honoring Lawrence Perrault on being named the recipient of the 2003 Citizenship Award by the Saint Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke”;
Resolutions (filed by Mr. Knapik) “honoring Peter Rosskothen on being named the recipient of the 2003 Citizenship Award by the Saint Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke”;
Resolutions (filed by Mr. Pacheco) “congratulating Richard C. Hinds, Jr. upon his elevation to the rank of Eagle Scout.”
PAPER FROM THE HOUSE.
The House Order relative to the adoption of permanent Joint Rules 10, 11B, 12, 12A and 26A for the 2003-2004 General Court (House, No. 2005),— came from the House.
Ms. Wilkerson moved to amend the order by striking out the text and inserting
in place thereof the text of Senate document numbered 1927, printed as amended.
The amendment was adopted.
The House order, as amended, was adopted in concurrence.
Sent to the House for concurrence in the Senate amendment.
Special Committee Appointments.
The President and Minority Leader announced the following appointments to the special committee established to review the Joint Rules of the House and Senate, as follows: Senators Brewer of Worcester, Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin, Berry of Essex, Menard of Bristol and Plymouth, Moore of Worcester and Norfolk and Tisei of Middlesex and Essex.
On motion of Ms. Wilkerson,—
Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns today, it adjourn to meet again on Thursday next at eleven o’clock A.M.
On motion of Mr. Knapik, at four minutes past eleven o’clock A.M., the Senate adjourned to meet on the following Thursday at eleven o’clock A.M.
