A communication from the Plainridge Racecourse (pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 128C of the General Laws) submitting copies of contracts for the simulcasting of dog races (received Thursday, January 20, 2005),— was placed on file.


The following reports were severally read and placed on file:

A report of the Commissioner of Probation (pursuant to Section 5 of Chapter 211F of the General Laws) submitting a copy of the Office of Community Correction’s Annual Report to the Legislature 2004 (received Friday, January 21, 2005);

A report of the Office of the Attorney General (under the provisions of Section 99R of Chapter 272 of the General Laws) submitting its report on wiretap interceptions for the calendar year 2004 (received Friday, January 28, 2005);

A report of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority (pursuant to Section 9 of Chapter 87 of the Acts of 2000) relative to the status of the Central Artery/Tunnel Project (CA/T) for the quarter ending December 31, 2004 (received Friday, January 28, 2005); and

A report of the Department of Public Health (pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 111 of the General Laws) submitting the 1997 Annual Report, Vital Statistics of Massachusetts (received Friday, January 28, 2005).

A report of the Department of Public Health (under the provisions of Sections 5 and 20 of Chapter 111 of the General Laws) relative to inspection of the Boston Pre-Release Center (received Thursday, January 27, 2005),— was read and sent to the House for its information.


The following resolutions (having been filed with the Clerk) were considered forthwith and adopted, as follows:—

Due to my ongoing recuperation, I was absent from the Senate Chambers on February 3rd, 2005 and I was therefore unable to participate in the roll call vote calling for the enactment of House Bill 2008, An Act Relative to Expanding the Military Mission at Hanscom Air Force Base and Soldier Systems Center-Natick. Had I been present, I would have voted in the affirmative on this matter.

I am respectfully requesting that a copy of this letter be printed in the Senate Journal as part of the official record for February 3rd, 2005. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
