Met at two minutes past eleven o'clock A.M.
At the request of the President, the members, guests and employees joined in a moment of silent prayer to the memory of Edward B. O'Neill, Clerk and Parliamentarian of the Massachusetts State Senate, who passed away this past weekend.
On motion of Mr. Lynch,
Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns today, it adjourn to meet again on Thursday next
at eleven o'clock A.M., and that the Clerk be directed to dispense with the printing of a
calendar.
Adjournment in memory of Edward B. O'Neill, Clerk and Parliamentarian of the Massachusetts State Senate.The President moved that when the Senate adjourns today, it adjourn in
memory of Edward B. O'Neill, Clerk and Parliamentarian of the Senate. Mr. O'Neill passed
away on Sunday, October 4, 1998. Mr. O'Neill served as the Clerk of the Senate from 1974 until
his passing, one of the longest tenures of any Clerk in the history of the Massachusetts Senate.
Mr. O'Neill served as an invaluable member of the Senate Clerk's Office for over thirty-seven
years. This motion prevailed. |
