Session Laws are those laws, which have been passed by the legislature for a particular year. These laws are generally incorporated into the General Laws of the Commonwealth, unless they are temporary in nature or do not apply statewide, when they would be considered Special Acts.

Special Acts are those laws, which are NOT incorporated into the General Laws. They are enacted as Session Laws for a particular year.

[We have available only the Session Laws from 1997 to the present date. To get a copy of a Session Law prior to that time, please check with your local library, your county law library or the State Library.]
