Reference librarians at the State Library will research and respond to email questions that can be answered briefly and relate to legislative, legal or governmental information. Please be as specific and detailed as possible so that we can answer your question in a timely manner.

We do not offer legal interpretation or advice. We check for incoming requests each morning and generally respond within three working days. In-state requests are given priority before requests coming from out-of-state. We provide only Massachusetts-related information.
