about Microsoft Word

Many of Board's regulations, policies and publications are now available as Microsoft Word documents and are identified by the MS Word icon: . (Word and the Word logo are trademarks of the Microsoft Corporation.)

There are several ways to access the information in Word files:

  • If you have Microsoft Word on your computer, you can download the file and open it in Word. Your computer may also be set up to open Word directly in your browser, after which you can save the document to your computer. Please be aware that the format of the document may vary slightly from the original due to your specific computer/printer combination.

  • If you have another word processing program, such as Corel's WordPerfect or Lotus' Word Pro, you may be able to convert the Word document to your own word processing format simply by opening the file. Please be aware that the format of the document may vary slightly from the original due to the conversion process and your specific computer/printer combination.

  • You can also download a free copy of the Microsoft Word Viewer and install it on your computer. The Viewer will display or print the contents of Word documents, although the format of the document may vary slightly from the original due to your specific computer/printer combination.

The Viewer is free from Microsoft: http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/Articles/viewerscvt.htm. On this page, please select the Word 97/2000 Viewer for your version of Windows. Selecting the appropriate version will bring you to a page describing the download and installation process. It is recommended that you print the instructions before you download the free software.

Paper copies of some of these documents may also be available from the LSP Board. Please email LSP.Board@state.ma.us for information about a particular document.
