• Research the employer and the position.  Start with the employer’s web site to learn about its mission and culture.  Make sure you have an answer to the question “Why do you want to work here?”
  • Practice describing yourself.  Think of examples from past jobs, school work, and activities to illustrate key skills.
  • Dress professionally.  Wear what you would wear for an important day on the job.  Most employers expect jobseekers to wear a traditional suit.  You want the interviewer to remember you, not your outfit.
  • Arrive on time.  On time for an interview means that you are at the interview site 10 to 15 minutes before the start time, so you have time to find the exact room and collect yourself.
