Below is a list of categories of public records maintained by DLS. These records may be subject to redaction if they contain information that may not be disclosed by law, is exempt under the public records law or is subject to other legally applicable privileges.
Apprenticeship Records - Documents regarding apprenticeship sponsor -programs and apprenticeship requirements in different trades including program sponsor application files, apprentice application files and supporting materials, training schedules, final apprenticeship certifications, and related correspondence.
Asbestos Files - Documents regarding the licensing of all asbestos professionals in the Commonwealth, including all applications for licensure workplace violation notices, citations, appeals and fines as well as AHERA Inspection records.
Collective Bargaining Agreements - These are the agreements between organized Labor and Management relating to the construction trades used to set the prevailing wage rates for public works construction projects.
General Correspondence - Correspondence to or from the DLS and to or from members of the public, attorneys, insurers, businesses, government agencies, news organizations etc.
Industrial Accident Investigation Case Files - Documents regarding the investigation of labor accidents within the Commonwealth, especially those involving serious injury or death including incident reports, medical information, clippings, photos, police reports, autopsy reports, and related correspondence.
Labor and Industries Statistics and Reports - Documents regarding labor and industries in the Commonwealth compiled by the Department of Labor Standards.
Occupational Safety and Health Reports - Documents regarding safety and health at the workplace including reporting and inspection for compliance. These would include Occupational Injury and Illness reports and logs including OSHA forms 100,101,102,200 as prescribed in 29 CFR 1960 and OSHA pamphlet 2014 to document all recordable occupational injuries and illnesses for each establishment, and inspection notes and reports.
Opinion Letters - Opinion letters issued by the Department of Labor Standards regarding the Prevailing Wage Laws, Minimum Wage Laws and/or Overtime Laws. Many of these letters are posted on the DLS website.
Prevailing Wage Rate Records - Documents relating to the prevailing wage rates set by DLS on all prevailing wage job in the Commonwealth including prevailing wage schedules, materials, and related correspondence.
Lead Paint - Documents regarding the licensing of all lead safe renovation contractors and/or deleading professionals in the Commonwealth including applications for licensure, work place inspection records, workplace violation notices, citations, appeals and fines.
Appeal Files - Documentation, pleadings, photographs, etc. pertaining to appeals of administrative actions taken by the Department of Labor Standards. Case files may contain complaints, petitions, decisions, briefs, exhibits, motions, investigatory notes correspondence and certifications.
Transcripts - Transcripts of hearings related to administrative appeals are removed and discarded when case is 7 years old, absent any litigation.
Workplace Hazard Investigation Records - Documents pertaining to investigations by the Division of Labor Standards into potential hazards found at the workplace. Includes complaints, field reports and notes, air monitoring results, radiation results, recommendations, employer abatement verifications, employer responses, medical surveillance records, and related correspondence.
