If protested ballots were not resolved at the time of the counting of the ballots and will determine the outcome of the election, the Division schedules a conference with the parties as soon as possible after the election. At the conference, the protested ballots will be opened and numbered and copies given to all of the parties. The parties are allowed seven (7) days to submit a statement of position about the protested ballots. If objections and challenges are also pending, the time for submission of the parties' positions may be extended until the close of the investigation into those matters. After the parties' positions are received, the Division will decide whether any of the protested ballots should be counted.
