In January, DUA mails an IRS form 1099G to all claimants showing total benefits paid and taxes withheld during the previous calendar year. You will need this information when you file your tax returns. 

There are several methods for obtaining a 1099G:

Online:  Log in to your UI Online account at www.mass.gov/dua.

  1. Click on “View and Request 1099G” on the left navigation bar. 
  2. Click on “View 1099G” and print.
  3. Click on “Request 1099G” to have it sent to you by UI Online.

Note: If you need the 1099G form to apply for financial aid (FAFSA), 
you can print the form by accessing UI Online.  Make sure request is for 
correct year. If not, click on the down arrow to select the right year.

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) : Call  617-626-5647. 

Listen to the message and press 1 to access any of the following options.

  • For a brief explanation of the form 1099G, press 1.
  • To request a copy of your form 1099G, press 2.
  • If there is an error on your form 1099G, press 3.
  • To hear these choices again, press 7.
  • To speak with a representative, press 0. This option is available only when the TeleClaim Center is open.

Earned Income Tax Credit Program

Based on the amount of your earned income, you may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). If eligible, you could get federal and state tax credits.
