You can use the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance's (DUA’s) TeleCert line to request your weekly unemployment benefits.  To use TeleCert, call 617-626-6338 any time from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.

In order to request your benefits using TeleCert, you will need your Social Security Number and your DUA 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).  If you do not have a PIN or forgot your PIN, please call the PIN Selection Line at 617-626-6943.

Note: If you have been using TeleCert to request your weekly benefit payments (sign or certify), please note that TeleCert questions have changed.



To request your weekly benefit payment by phone, please follow these steps: 

Enter your SSN and PIN - if your claim is in ACTIVE status, you will hear the following:

If you would like to request benefits for the week beginning [Sunday] and ending [Saturday], press one.  
If not, press two. If you press 2, you will be asked questions about declining the week. 

You will now be asked several questions for the week beginning [Sunday date of the requested week] and ending [Saturday date of the requested week].  
Answer the following questions truthfully. Depending upon how you answer each question, you may be required to answer additional questions. 
After you have answered each question, your response will be repeated back to you. If you make a mistake or want to hear a question repeated, press the star button.
 

  1. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week] did you work and earn wages?                                     
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.
  2. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week], were you offered new employment?                            
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.
  3. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week], did you quit a job?                                                      
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.
  4. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week], were you laid off from a job?                                      
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.
  5. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week], were you discharged (fired) from a job?                      
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.
  6. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week], did you apply for or receive income that you have not previously reported to us, such as disability benefits, vacation pay, or workers compensation?
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.
  7. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week], were you able to work?                                              
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.
  8. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week], were you available to work?                                       
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.
  9. During the week [Sunday date of the requested week] through [Saturday date of the requested week], did you look for work?                                               
    If yes, press 1. If no, press 9.

Please hold until you are told that your weekly claim filing is complete. Please remember, you are not eligible for unemployment insurance benefits for any week in which you have worked full-time.  

I certify that the information I have provided is true and correct. I know that Massachusetts Law provides penalties and/or imprisonment for false statements to obtain benefits and that DUA actively pursues fraudulently collected benefits.
