If you are calling to file a new claim or reopen a claim for unemployment benefits, or need other assistance, please review the Call Schedule below before calling. Adhering to this schedule will help ensure that everyone gets through to the TeleClaim Center in a timely manner.

TeleClaim Services

You can reopen your claim, be interviewed if there are any issues affecting your eligibility for benefits, obtain up-to-date information on the status of your claim and UI benefit payment check, and resolve problems, all by telephone.

TeleClaim Center Hours

Business Hours Effective 03/24/14: Monday & Tuesday 7:30am to 4:30pm, Wednesday through Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Shorter waiting times can be expected later in the week.

If You Want to File a New Unemployment Insurance claim or to Reopen an Existing claim

  • Call the TeleClaim Center
  • Press #1 (for English) and then press #1 to speak with an agent. Have all your information ready before filing your claim. See Information We Need From You.

If You Want an Update on Your Claim/Payment Status

You can obtain the same information available to TeleClaim Center staff by calling the Payment Status Line at 617-626-6563.

If You Need Information About Your Claim or Help with a Problem

Questions you have about your claim will be answered by the telephone center staff.

If You Need Customer Assistance to resolve a problem, to provide a Social Security Number for a dependent child, or to change your address

To use DUA's Automated Telephone Services

  1. Call TeleCert at 1-617-626-6338 to request your weekly benefit payment (sign or certify for eligibility for weekly benefit).  Review TeleCert Questions.
  2. Call the Payment Status Line at 1-617-626-6563 to check your claim status or payment information.
  3. Call the PIN Service Line at 1-617-626-6943 to set/change your TeleCert PIN.

To Resolve Problems

The staff and management of the TeleClaim Center are committed to answering your questions, responding to your concerns, and resolving your problems. However, if you have a question that cannot be answered by the telephone center agent, or a problem that cannot be resolved to your satisfaction, please contact the Problem Resolution Unit.
