The Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) is the court system for disputed workers' compensation cases in Massachusetts. The DIA does not pay for medical treatment for injured workers, unless the employer for the injured worker did not have insurance coverage on the date of the injury. In that instance, the Workers' Compensation Trust Fund (WCTF), which is part of the DIA, would act as the insurer.

As a court system, we do not establish the medical reimbursement rates nor do we establish the procedure codes. The Center for Health Information and Analysis (formerly the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy) establishes the rates for the codes through a regulatory process. They can be reached at 617-988-3100.
