Dr. Dean Hashimoto is the Chief of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and at the Brigham and Women's Hospital for the Partners HealthCare System. Dr. Hashimoto is both a physician and an attorney. He has also served as a consultant to the DIA commissioner since 1991 and assisted in implementing the impartial medical examiner system. Dr. Hashimoto has served as Chair of the Health Care Services Board since 1999. 

After graduating from the Yale Law School, Dr. Hashimoto served as a law clerk for Justice William Brennan at the U.S. Supreme Court. He worked as a health care attorney for Ropes & Gray in Boston before joining the Boston College Law School faculty where he is currently an Associate Professor.

He graduated from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine and received further medical training at the Brigham & Women's Hospital and the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Hashimoto has academic appointments at the Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health.
