Dr. Richard Zimon, a physician representative on the Health Care Services Board since 2004, has been both a primary care physician (internal medicine) and has consulted in the area of occupational medicine for the past 45 years. He has been the Director of Employee Health Services at three major Harvard teaching hospitals, Beth Israel hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital and has served in that capacity at the Mount Auburn Hospital and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Zimon is also a practicing physician at the Occupational Medicine Center at the New England Baptist Hospital, where he practiced occupational medicine in the CAREGROUP occupational Medicine network.
Dr. Zimon has extensive experience with the Massachusetts utilization review process and is currently Director of utilization review at Arrow Mutual insurance Company, Atlantic Charter insurance, Sargent Medical review, Chubb Services, and CorVel Corporation.
Dr. Zimon is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School where he served as Assistant Clinical Professor of medicine for 35 years.
He presently provides clinical occupational health services at OCCUMED in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
