Once a Complaint has been filed at the MCAD, the Investigator mails the Complaint to the Respondent(s) in order to obtain a "Position Statement" from the Respondent which outlines the respondent's position regarding the allegations in the complaint.

Investigative Conference

Next, a meeting with the Complainant and the Respondent(s) is sometimes held to gather information surrounding the complaint and to discuss the possibility of a voluntary resolution of the complaint. This is called the Investigative Conference. (Download the Investigative Conference Fact Sheet pdf format of Investigative Conference Fact Sheet

The investigation culminates with an issuance of a Determination.
