Closing argument is the prosecutor’s final opportunity to persuade the jury or a judge that the facts prove the defendant’s guilt.  A prosecutor’s closing argument requires both skillful advocacy and an acute awareness of the pitfalls that can create reversible error.  During this thirty minute webinar, Carrie Newton from MDAA’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Unit will provide participants with suggestions for persuasive advocacy and assist prosecutors in understanding the sometimes subtle distinctions between proper and improper arguments.
