Soils Polygons, Special (Spot/Ad Hoc) Features, and Project Status Layer To Download: Hold down the Shift key and left-click on each link to save locally. Each download is a Windows self-extracting executable. Once Downloaded: Extract the files by double-clicking on the .exe file name in Windows Explorer or by entering the name at the DOS Command Prompt and hitting return. The StuffIt software (for Windows or Macintosh) or the Unix and Linux command "unzip" can also be used to extract the data from the .exe files. Each Shapefile .exe file contains all the necessary components for the shapefile format (.dbf, .shx, .shp files) for each available feature class (e.g., arc, polygon, point). Related Tables: The metadata links contain FGDC-compliant
metadata and related tables in SSURGO 2.0 Microsoft Access 2000
databases (see the NRCS NASIS site for details). For "spot" features, the metadata file contains standard MassGIS and FGDC-compliant documentation. For details on this layer see the Datalayer Description. Soils data are distributed by Soil Survey Area (view
Status/Index Map)
