Orthophoto Quads Index
The Orthophoto Quad Index is used to tile most imagery distributed by MassGIS (orthophotos and scanned USGS Quad maps), as well as five vector data layers (see box below).

The 2 Best Ways to Find your Ortho Quad tiles:

  1. View/Download .PDF Version of Statewide Map (detailed - contains OQ Sheet-IDs, labeled Towns and Watershed, and Major Highways), viewable in Adobe Acrobat Reader, free from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.

  2. Download a list of Orthophoto IDs and corresponding Towns (.dbf format, viewable in Excel and other programs; hold down the shift key and click on this link, or click on the link with the right mouse button and select "Save link as..." or "Save target as...").

In each image, the top number in each OQ tile is used in the naming convention of ARC/INFO Export Files (.e00); the bottom number is used to name ESRI Shapefiles.

The Orthophoto Quad Index is used as the tiling scheme for most imagery (Orthophotos, Scanned USGS Quads) and the following datalayers:
