GIS Technician

MassGIS is seeking a GIS Technician for a full-time contract position that would start as soon as the position can be filled and end on June 30, 2009.  It is possible that funding for a similar position on this or another project may be approved for a period starting July 1, 2009.  Whether those positions will be funded and whether they would have to be advertised or could be filled internally is presently unknown.  The GIS Technician position that is the subject of this announcement will work on maintaining an existing statewide road network; the Technician will also likely work on various aspects of a project to create and/or QA points representing street addresses.  Both these data sets are for use in emergency response (911) call centers.  Applications CANNOT be submitted by email.
