June 15, 2011 -- To date, the U.S. Census Bureau has not released the very detailed demographics tabular data (with hundreds of fields) known as SF1 for the 2010 Census; it is expected in the Fall. Once released, MassGIS will prepare and post the SF1 files for download.

What has been released is the Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171) Summary File, which is created for the purposes of redistricting and contains limited population and housing data. Because we have had many requests for processed geography linked to the yet-to-be-released SF1 file, we are now posting for download a series of DRAFT file geodatabases that contain the Blocks, Block Groups and Tracts geography and the PL94 tables. The data are also available for download in shapefile and dBASE formats. In addtion, the PL94 database is available for download for use in Microsoft Access.

MassGIS is also releasing a DRAFT version of the Census 2010 TIGER roads. This statewide dataset may be used in geocoding applications.
