Loading images with the DataViewer button will not work initially. Due
to a bug in the ESRI software, the lyr files for image catalogs will not save the relative path that points to the images.
So when you load the images a red excalmation mark appears next to it in the list of
layers.

In
Version 1 of the Data Viewer there is a bug which becomes evident when
you reopen a project that you saved. This bug clears any layers you had
saved in the project and only the towns layer is displayed. This has
been fixed in Version 2, and you can now download the new version and replace you old one, in order to properly
open your saved projects.
-
After entering and zooming to point using the Enter Point feature in the Zoom section of the Data
Viewer, you must click the back button twice, to return to the previous extent. This is because the code for the Data
Viewer does the zoom to a point in two steps (center the coordinate on the screen and then zoom in).

The
Data Viewer and lyr files were created in Version 8.2, prior versions (8.0
and 8.1) will not be able to access the lyr files for the symbology. To get
around this issue you can create your own symbology and add it as your own
theme using the 'Add LYR' button.
