A Script to Print ArcView Palettes

Nathanael Lloyd of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management has contributed a useful script that enables the ArcView user to print ArcView palettes. Printing the palettes will enable you to know what the colors on your screen are going to look like coming out of your printer.

Instructions for using this script:

Copy this script to a text file. In ArcView, make a new script document and load the text file. Compile the script. Under the window menu, select the "Show Symbol Window" option. The default color palette should be displayed. It is also possible to load 3 other fill palettes - the colornam palette, the rainbow palette and the c256 palette. Once you have a palette loaded, create a new layout document. Make this layout document the active window, then open the script and hit the run button. Once the color boxes have been transferred to the layout, you can group them and move them around the layout for better display.
