"MassGIS Data Viewer Utilities"
Extension
The MassGIS Data Viewer Utilities Extension
was developed for MassGIS by Applied Geographics in the summer of 1999.
The extension provides additional functionality to the basic MassGIS Data
Viewer:
-
Menu Display: Display of all
3 menus of the 3-tiered menu structure at once, so that it is easier to
find a theme.
-
Table Editing: An interface for
editing the MassGIS Data Viewer’s themeinv.dbf, zoominv.dbf, inquiry.dbf
and joinlink.dbf tables (which govern the “A” and “Z” buttons)
-
Table Creation: The ability to
create additional “user” themeinv.dbf, zoominv.dbf, inquiry.dbf, and joinlink.dbf
equivalent tables.
-
Add Themes: The ability to easily
add new, formatted themes from the View into these MassGIS or user tables.

Download new Viewer: In order
to use this new extension, users need to download
a new copy of the MassGIS Data Viewer (good for ArcView 3.1.1 [NOT
3.1] and ArcView 3.2 or 3.2a.), since certain scripts have been modified
in that as well (as of 8/21/00).
It may make sense for some
people who have older datasets (over 6 months old or so) to get a new viewer
and a new set of data at the same time so that the 'A' menus won't refer
to too many new layers which they don't have. People can check the date
of their viewer by looking in the script called "ReleaseInfo". See the
Online Order Form to get a new Viewer with
data. |
